Philosophy
Our core philosophy is inspired by the Montessori methods. Each material has been exclusively designed and manufactured for our preschool curriculum. We believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is our desire as educators to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites sharing of ideas.
Our
Curriculum
At Sattva, we have taken initiation to endorse and provide a high level of academic excellence. We have adopted Kreedo ® and Grolier ® materials. Also, these curriculums of the pre-school are designed to enhance distinctive physical capabilities, cognitive skills, social attributes and spiritual traits of every child. This combination is a hallmark of the institution and sets a high benchmark among the entire pre-school fraternity.
Our Methodology
A Montessori curriculum is different from the conventional school syllabus. It focuses on emphasizing the whole learning process which cannot be associated with one age group. Here, the learning process is determined by how easily and quickly a child can grasp a concept and move on to acquire the next level skill set. It’s the combined age grouping in one classroom i.e. a 2-year-old could share space with a 4-year-old, which in turn facilitates the whole learning process. We believe that pre-school education should be given equal importance like any other areas of growth stage. Hence, appropriate stimulus is the key to early learning. Our preschool activities have been designed keeping in mind the child and to ensure that there is directional awareness all the time.
Our methodology includes :
1. Child-centric approach and individual learning with materials. Teachers in the classroom are merely facilitators and observers of learning
2. Development of child through sense organs and small group activities in art, language and gross motor skills
3. Self-learning, improvement and situational awareness
4. Daily observation and assessment
5. Learning through a thematic approach
6. Montessori methods – that introduces child to English through phonetics and Mathematics, and eventual inclusion of fundamental lessons in science, geography and history
7. Physical development activities that include light exercises along with traditional sports
8. Environmental awareness-based activities that include planting seeds and small gardening routines
9. Appropriate stimulus based role-playing activities, field trips and group events
10. Shlokas and Bhagavad-Gita learning sessions are also used to promote language skills and auditory development.
About Founder
Sattva Preschool and Academy is the brainchild of Sujay Sathyanarayana. I completed Master in Banking and Finance in UK, Master in Economics in St Joseph’s College, Bangalore and pursuing PhD in Economics from Aberdeen University, Scotland. I have been in the field of education from last 10 years. I have taught Under- Graduate students in Aberdeen for three years and Post- Graduate students in Economics, Mathematics, Finance in PES University, Jain University, BNMIT College and other reputed institutions.
I gave wings to Sattva preschool in the year 2018 with three students and later in the year 2019-20, we had admissions more than 30 students. Post-Covid-19, the finest, best quality infrastructure and resources for the kids from 2 years to 6 years attracted more parents towards Sattva.
